Kybella works gradually as treated fat cells are broken down and naturally eliminated by the body. At OVME, treatments are spaced thoughtfully to allow results to develop naturally while maintaining facial balance.

Once fat cells are eliminated, results are long-lasting. Many providers recommend a series of 2-4 sessions, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart, depending on your individual goals and the amount of submental fullness being treated.

Your Appointment

Aftercare

Arrive with clean skin and no makeup if possible. Pre-procedure photos will be taken.

Avoid taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Ginger, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, and Garlic 10- 14 days before the procedure. These may cause excessive bleeding or bruising.

To further decrease the risk of bruising, you may start Arnica or Arnica supplements one day before your procedure and continue for a few days following the procedure.

The sub-mental area will be cleansed during the procedure to minimize discomfort.

Kybella is then injected directly into the fatty tissue.

The injection sensation is commonly described as a “pinch and sting”.

Significant swelling and discomfort may last for up to 72-hours post procedure.

Swelling, redness, bruising, and numbness in the area is common for 5 days and may last up to 14 days. If symptoms continue beyond 10 days or if other reactions occur, please contact your provider directly through the OVME Mobile application, or OVME studio.

Avoid strenuous exercise for 3 days following treatment.

You may use ice or a cold compress during the healing process to help reduce swelling and discomfort. Ice gently and intermittently, giving your skin time to rest between sessions. Avoid applying ice directly to the skin or icing too aggressively, as this can cause irritation or injury.

Sleep with your head elevated.

Do not scratch, pick or traumatize the area in any way. Do not massage or manipulate the injection site.

You may apply your normal skin care regimen and sunscreen after 24 hours.

In the unlikely chance that you experience any difficulty swallowing, crusting or scabbing, asymmetry of your smile or any other unusual symptoms call your provider directly at the OVME studio.

How long does Kybella last?

Once treated fat cells are eliminated, they do not return. Results are considered long-lasting, though maintaining a stable weight helps preserve these outcomes.

When will I see results?

Visible improvements typically begins after swelling resolves, with continued contour improvement over several weeks following each treatment session.

Is it safe?
